A lot of people today marry for the wrong reasons, and before you know it, they’re divorcing. You may find yourself searching for the perfect person to make you happy before you get married. The best reason for marrying someone is because you love them so much that you want to devote your life to making them happy. Unless you’re a very selfless person, you will likely find it too difficult to put your partner’s needs and happiness above your own.
The Bible is a great source for the strength that you need to do this. There are all types of problems that you can experience in your marriage, so relying on these pieces of advice will help considerably.
1. Mark 8:36 – “What good is it for a man to gain the whole world yet forfeit his own soul?” You don’t have to live your life for your spouse to the point in which you give up your own true identity.
2. I Corinthians 13:4&5 – “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.” This verse is pretty straightforward, so make sure that you read it and understand it completely.
3. I Corinthians 7:27 – “Are you married? Do not seek a divorce.” In this verse God plainly tells you what He expects. There are no problems in the world that God views is serious enough to get divorced from your partner.
4. Proverbs 15:17 – “Better a meal of vegetables where there is love than a fattened calf with hatred.” You definitely shouldn’t use financial problems as a reason to get divorced. When you get married, you promise to God that you will stand by your partner’s side no matter what.
5. Luke 6:37 – “Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven”. Jesus was speaking of your enemies when he spoke this passage, but it is definitely true of those you love, too.
These are only a few examples of how the Bible tells us to live a life without divorce. There’s good reason why this book has sold the most copies of any book in history. Doc No. 34Sdlhgsdl -sds
